San Francisco Map. While a map’s most obvious goal is to aid in wayfinding, a map also serves to crystalize the huge and sometimes vague concept of a specific place and make it a little more tangible. This map reduces detail and removes labels, poking at some new formal possibilities while retaining bits of ‘San Francisco-ness’. Less ‘map as tool’, more ‘map as totem’.
